SOL Avengers: Assemble by ArchiCrash SOL Avengers: Assemble by ArchiCrash
Though they come from different movies, these six heroes have joined together as a team in order to fight the forces of evil. They are Avengers!

...But they are not "The Avengers." "The Avengers" each come from Marvel Comics movies. These heroes, by contrast, come from Mystery Science Theater 3000 movies. Which would make them "The SOL Avengers!"

Counterclockwise from the upper left, they are:

Joseph Javorski was once a noted scientist, but ever since he was irradiated by a nuclear blast at Yucca Flats, he is known simply as: The Incredible Tor!

Johnny Salinas spends most of his time as a proffessor of anthropology at a small university, but when danger calls, he bravely takes up his ancestral weapons to save he day. Watch him live up to his indian name: Longbow!

Built in Japan as a mere robot, he has since gained self-awareness, and the ability to reprogram himself to better combat the forces of evil. He is the mechanical marvel: Jet Jaguar!

She is the femme fatale of the team, a streetwise fighter who cut her teeth fighting drug-dealing street punks and infiltrating militia bases. Her codename: White Angel!

He weilds the power the of the Gods who come from other worlds: PumaMan!

And rounding out the team, he is the living embodiment of the spirit of a nation: Zap Rowsdower!

SOL Avengers: Assemble!

...I liked the second episode, though half the cast is more annoying than engaging....

After saving the world, they can all enjoy Johnny's stew! Made with chicken, corn, green peppers, chili, (sign) onions...

hm, who should the bad guys be?

Torgo for Loki and tHe mASteR for Thanos seems natural. Casting the Chitauri is harder for me. The The Eye Creatures? The Horrors or Party Beach?

A stand-in for the Chitauri? Well it would have to be someone thoroughly unthreatening, and so mind-numbingly bland that it makes one yearn for any villain other than themselves.... (Like the Kree, or Skulls, or Shiar, or heck, even the Brood!)......Oh, I've got it! The Neptune Men! They'de make the perfect cipers for the Chitauri...

Ah, the Neptune Men... makes sense. So, does that mean that the energy projector for the portal should be placed on top of The Hitler Building?

So... much... WIN...

I love the little touches here, like the repulsor rays in Jet Jaguar's hands, or the bleak, misty background connoting most B-Movies...

Heh. Actually, the misty background was so I didn't have to draw much detail.....which does fit with why mist is used in B-movies, so, huzzah!

Okay, the Chicken-Men could stand in for the Kree or the Skrulls (Or the Chitori) but Mr. B Natural.....Would be the Enchantress? Oh, that's just evil.... :devilish:

So would represent Loki in this case? I don't think Satoris from The Final Sacrifice would be a good choice  Maybe Troxartas instead

Loki? Well, the obvious choice would be thE mAster from "Manos: The Hands of Fate." :D

I don't remember her name...But she's from "Angel's Revenger". It was pretty much the only movie I could think of that had an actual femme fatale...And the goofy costume did seem appropriate!

Torgo? An Avenger? No, he's more likely one of the Masters of Evil.

Well, the Hulk was rarely a hero....And besides, Tor is just soooooo perfect for the role!

To me, he was more like the misunderstood hero. I remember watching repeats of the 80's Hulk tv show and even thought he'd scared the hell about everybody, he'd end up saving the day. I also remember how he saves Betty from the mutant dogs and the people on that bridge from the jet that would've hit in the 2005 Hulk Movie. And, I just saw The Avengers where he seemed to be pretty heroic.

Well, to balance that, there was the time in the movie when he attacked Black Widow and Thor on the Helicarrier... ^^;

I think he was confused or some people thought he was under Loki's control. Still, he kicked ass in that movie.

It just hit me, why hasn't Sam Casey (Ben Murphy) shown up? Oh wait you did include him: he's invisible and being as elusive as Robert Denby at the moment...

....Well, also because unless there was a surprise appearance of The Vision, there are no invisible Avengers in the movie...
