Dragon Rigging

The "Temeraire" books, from Naomi Novik: Your standard dragonrider stories, set in Napoleaonic England. Which means that in addition to riders (Captains) dragons also have crews. An interesting concept, though Mrs. Novik was a little vauge as to how the 'harnesses' that held the crew actually worked... So, here's one artist's interpretation!

Mrs. Novik was also a little vauge about describing the size of her dragons. Usually she just gave some reference like 'lightwieght,' 'middleweight,' or 'heavyweight.' But, based on her occassional mentions of crew compliment, the beastie shown here would be one of the smaller dragons.
